down with what i’m down with
I am down with the sick; it has gotten me. It’s an odd sort of head cold which masquerades at night sometimes as a fever. I don’t think my temperature has actually been up, though, I’ve just gotten the dreams. Sound fun? It’s not. The dreams are about being locked in an urgent battle to keep the Cathedral of Learning from falling down, using, of course, books. They are about helping your sister to give birth (not as graphic as it might sound, thank goodness). They encompass that feeling that you get when you wake up and are terrified of something tiny that may or may not exist (it didn’t, thank goodness).
I took off work today and bailed on class in order to catch up on my rest (the sleep from 7 am to 12:30 pm was much better than the previous eight hours had been) and watch a few episodes of Animaniacs (a particularly insightful friend purchased it for me as an early birthday present) and make some soup. This evening I’ve been catching up on my reading for class and my work on the presentation which Esteemed Co-worker and I are doing next month on blogs as information sources. Now I have to do the dishes. No rest for the sick.
